November 11th 2008 was a special day for many reasons - the 90th anniversary of the end
of the First World War and the final sailing of the World famous Cunard Liner QE2 from Southampton.
FTF Worldwide used their extensive management skills to commemorate both of these special occasions to create a memorable day
for everyone on board as well as HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and the thousands of well-wishers lining the docks and parks through to the many small boat owners escorting her as she sailed
The day commenced with a million poppies dropped from 2 aircraft from the Historic Aircraft flight at Middle Wallop. As the poppies dropped over QE2 everyone on board stood in silence in an act of remembrance.
Later in the day guests boarding the great liner were treated to music from a 20's dance band, the Band of the Scots Guards and, whilst the passengers took tea in the Queens Room on board, the Central Band of the Royal British Legion played for their enjoyment.
As the final preparations to sail were made The Scots Guards band were on the quayside to play to the passengers
lining the ships rails.
As a final goodbye FTF Worldwide were on hand to provide a spectacular pyrotechnic show as QE2 sailed past her
home berth for the very last time.
After this emotional day VIP's and invited guests made their way inside to enjoy an evening reception also organised by
FTF Worldwide Event Management. Some images of the day are available here
